For custom, basic, non-ecommerce websites, including blogs, campaign websites, and personal websites, I have the following pricing tiers, depending on your organization. For more complex work, email me for a quote.
Hosting, domain names, and design/design assets are not included in the following prices, all of which are necessary to build a website. Hosting a simple website can cost as little as ~$100 annually. Domain names are ~$10 each annually, you probably only need one. You can get your own designer or use ones I work with. For a designer working directly with me, it will be ~$500 for a simple website.
Qualifying Organization Examples: Coffeeshops, Restaurants, Personal Websites
I'm sure you're doing some cool things, but you aren't selflessly going out of your way to make the world a better place. This is still a great deal while I build up my freelance portfolio further.
Qualifying Organization Examples: Clean energy groups, Groups building apps for activists, Progressive universities
Your organization works in a progressive industry and your organization's work makes the world an objectively better place, but you're making money, so you can afford to give me a fair price.
Qualifying Organization Examples: Progressive political campaigns, Medical nonprofits, Policy organizations
Your organization works to make the world a better place, and is probably either applicable for 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 status, or is an active political group or campaign. This is the bare-minimum wage I need to take in order to be able to be sustainable.
I have to be a big fan of your organization for you to qualify for this tier. Very few organizations will qualify for this. This is below living wages for me and may include an in-kind donation of my work.
